YouthAll Workforce Solutions Alamo Board youth programs are funded under the Workforce Investment Act (WIA). These programs serve economically disadvantaged youth ages 14-21 who are in or out of school. Programs available to youth in the

Alamo Area include:

WIA Youth
Activities include:

  1. tutoring, study skills training, and instruction leading to secondary school completion, including dropout prevention strategies

  2. alternative secondary school offerings

  3. summer employment opportunities directly linked to academic and occupational learning

  4. paid and unpaid work experience, including internships and job shadowing

  5. occupational skills training

  6. leadership development opportunities, which include community service and peer-centered activities

  7. supportive services

  8. adult mentoring during and after program participation

  9. follow-up services to support continued success in achieving education and employment goals

  10. comprehensive guidance and counseling

WIA Youth program services are offered by the following providers:

George Gervin Youth Center serves youth who reside in Bexar County. Call 804-1786 for more information.

Good Samaritan Center serves youth who reside in Bexar County and serves youth who reside in he following surrounding counties: Atascosa, Bandera, Comal, Frio, Gillespie, Guadalupe, Karnes, Kendall, Kerr, Medina, Wilson.
