Anchored by the presence of telecommunications giant AT&T and emerging companies like Rackspace Managed Hosting, the Internet, IT, and Telecommunications industry cluster has become an increasingly important segment of the local economy. The growth of this cluster, however, has created increased demand for educated, highly-skilled, and tech savvy employees.

From the classrooms of the Alamo Community College District to the lecture halls of the University of Texas at San Antonio, the region’s colleges, universities, and technical schools have responded to the challenges of preparing students to take advantage of rewarding career opportunities and of building a workforce to meet the “high-skill” demands of the fast-paced Internet, IT & Telecom industry cluster.
