As the local population continues to grow
and the complexity of twenty-first century construction
projects increases, the demand for “high-skill” construction
workers in the Alamo region is reaching new heights. Whether
working on capacity building highway expansions,
multi-million dollar shopping centers, or restoring
historical architecture, the challenges facing today’s
construction industry workers are greater than ever and the
need for skill training is growing rapidly.
From the training labs of the Alamo
Community College District to the lecture halls of the
University of Texas at San Antonio, the region’s colleges,
universities, and technical schools have responded to the
challenges of preparing students to take advantage of
rewarding career opportunities and of building a workforce
to meet the “high-skill” demands of the fast-paced
Construction industry.
